Who can join?
FAME membership is open to organisations, including sole traders, that regularly undertake development-led archaeological/heritage commercial practice (contracting and/or consulting), and operate, or intend to operate, in, at least, Ireland and/or United Kingdom markets.
It excludes organisations, or organisations led by individuals whose actions might bring the reputation of FAME into disrepute through their membership of the association, or who might pose a risk to FAME staff, members or other individuals participating in FAME activities/events. Examples of such actions/risks include, but are not limited to:
- conviction of criminal offence but excluding minor offences, such as speeding fines;
- being expelled from a professional society for violating professional standards or codes of conduct/ethics, or resigned from a professional organisation while under investigation for violations;
- anti-competition or cartel activities.
Membership can be lost for the above reasons and
- failure to abide by FAME policies and/or the Rules of the company, or
- non-payment of FAME subscription by the due date.
Any organisation denied membership, or removed from membership rolls, may appeal the decision by emailing FAME, within two calendar weeks of receiving such notification, explaining why they believe they should have FAME membership. The FAME Board will then review the appeal at their next meeting and make a final decision. If received less than a week before the next board meeting, it will be considered at the following one.
